He talks about his life path and how he ended up at a jazz conservatory. Sudhir Acharya has just returned from a musical theory class. Seated in a café within the jazz conservatory building, where he commenced studies three months ago, the 25-year-old reflects on his musical journey. Despite his current academic pursuit, he confesses to not having a strong inclination towards jazz. Until recently, he was known as a proficient tabla player. So, how did he transition to his current path? “That’s a long story,” says Acharya. During his childhood, Acharya’s father worked for a company in the music industry. He worked as a mechanic in the production of covers for music cassettes.   Nepal is a small State in South Asia surrounded by India, China (Tibet), Bangladesh and Bhutan. It is dominated by the patriarchal society. Women are completely dependent on men for their survival. The position of women and girls has always been inferior to that of men. Women in Nepal are treated as a product, to produce babies. Thus gender issue is a biggest problem in Nepal. A man on a mission, Shah shows no fear of hurdles, legal or otherwise, and is unequivocal about his mission to transform the metropolitan city. Only that he is headed in the wrong direction, and his mission is guided by a myopic vision of what a city should be like. For Shah, a city is a gentrified, boutique-style showpiece that has no place for the poor. Each day, Shah’s city police officers perform an unbearable spectacle on the streets, upending fruit carts and chasing poor vendors. His officers regularly roam around in bulldozers, razing buildings even when the homeowners plead for a chance to produce their papers of legitimate ownership.
